This September edition of this blog series is going to be short and sweet. As we are approaching the final quarter of 2022, now is a good time to evaluate goals and plan ahead. So without further ado, I'm going onto the main trends I've noticed this season.
Print Publishing
Print publishing has gone down by 1.6% at least in the traditional publishing world. This is related to the higher inflation rates and the cost of printing and paper, so in a nutshell print books are getting a bit more costly.
Book Promotion
Although you have your standard forms of book promotion such as word of mouth and social media, now there are more opportunities to get the word about your book out there such as through blogs (whether it's your own or your guest posting), forums, and podcasts.
Find podcasts and blogs in your niche or genre and see if they would be willing to let you guest post or inviting you on their show as a guest.
E-Books
The growth in the e-book market has been exponential over the last couple of years and it's only bound to continue, especially in the self-publishing sector with the higher royalty share of up to 70% from ebooks.
Those are my trends for this month. Stay stuned for next month's post.
