Today's post is going to be on two recipes in the To Catch a Rebel series so far. My protagonist Aria is a massive foodie and always goes into detail on what she's cooking or eating, so today I'll give you guys the recipe for Nigerian buns and efo riro.

Buns

The woman was standing in front of a mixing bowl that she filled with flour, butter and oil. I had seen that mixture so many times.
“You’re making buns”, I said. The woman smiled and said something in Edo as she took some of the mixture in her hands and made a ball. -To Catch a Rebel

Buns in Nigeria are fried in oil instead of baked in an oven.

Here's a recipe from Jemimah on Youtube and it's really easy to follow.

Efo riro

Tonight we were having efo riro, spinach stew with stockfish, and fufu. -To Raise a Banner

Efo riro is a spinach stew originating in Yoruba land which translates to "stirred spinach", The recipe is full of different kinds of meat but you can replace it with tofu or add some yam to make it vegan.

That's it for today. I hope you guys try out the recipes or if not, find your nearest Nigerian restaurant. Are there any other recipes from the books you'd like to see? Let me know below in the comments.
